My role at CV!

As CV!'s sole Designer from 2014 to 2017 I worked on a variety of different projects including digital newsletters and TV screen ads, social media graphics, posters, event promo material, outdoor signage and branded apparel. One of my most recent design projects for CV! was a large floor mural I designed for National Volunteer Week 2017 – it was displayed on Curtin University's Bentley campus during the week-long event. I carried out all work remotely, with occasional in-person meetings with CV!'s management team. My role was an ongoing volunteer position with all design services provided on a pro-bono basis.

I created artwork for a variety of print and digital channels, using my design skills and creativity to raise awareness of the organisation on-campus, recruit new student volunteers and communicate the value of CV!'s work to stakeholders such as university management and community partners. My work was displayed prominently on-campus as A1 posters and signage, but also as screen advertisements on television screens at various locations (Curtin Robertson Library Foyer, Curtin Career Centre etc.). This allow Curtin Volunteers! to have a strong presence on campus and become more visible among the student population. As tertiary students are oftentimes busy with exams, assignments and various work commitments, it was essential for CV! to keep them engaged and encourage them frequently to participate in volunteer projects around Western Australia. My work played a vital role in making this possible.

Since Curtin Volunteers! is part of Curtin University, its brand is closely connected to that of the university. For my work as a Designer it was essential to adhere to CV!'s brand guidelines. Their styleguide included items such as overall visual language, colours, fonts and logo placement. Within these guidelines I made use of my creativity to come up with new ideas on how to communicate the organisation's message to various stakeholders online and on campus.
